I’m extremely honored to be joining 3:AM as a contributing editor. To me, 3:AM has always published cutting-edge work—especially with regard to nonfiction, criticism, reviews, interviews, and those pieces that blur all preexisting lines—and it’s in that same vein that I would love to read work to consider for publication here.
In particular, I am very much interested in nonfiction that falls (roughly) into the following categories:
—Literature in translation, especially fiction
—Literary and cultural theory/criticism
—Poetics; ars poetica; linguistics
—Interviews with authors and translators
—Film, especially European cinema past and present
—Gender and sexuality studies; feminist and queer theories
—Psychoanalytic and trauma theory and the humanities
Pieces that experiment with the essay form—and even call “form” itself into question—are strongly encouraged, as are more traditional pieces.
I am especially eager to consider pieces that are interdisciplinary in scope, as well as those that shed light on writers, art works, artists, etc. that are considered “marginal” or non-canonical.
Please feel free to be in touch with any questions, pitches, or ideas—however tentative.
