That petrified superpun

This Thursday (30th April @ 7.00 p.m), Mark Ryan reads James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake at the Calder Bookshop, London:

James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake is one of the most impenetrable works of modern literature. This “book of the night” is a dazzling work of multiple meanings, bringing together hermetic mysticism, historical events – real and imagined – unconscious associations and archaic symbolism. Its subject is the beginning and the end, everything and everyone everywhere. Following his successful 2008 performance of excerpts from the Wake, Mark Ryan returns with a recital of the ‘Anna Livia’ chapter.

Further: James Joyce reads from Anna Livia Plurabelle (recording by Sylvia Beach) / ‘Of Chrematology – Joyce and Money’, Tom McCarthy & Simon Critchley on Finnegans Wake
