THREE POEMS

by

Erin Bealmear

Merging

Realizing
no one was looking
she ran from the house
tearing
her blouse
open
yanking
it off
breasts exposed
she ran
to the curb
grinning
and stuck her thumb
out
for a ride.

Election Year

That look in your eyes
says
I'm afraid
they will win
she will fall
and we'll lose
the idea
completely.

Choosing Sides

Don't wait
full of silence
until someone else
turns
the page.
