her in an effort to prevent discovery of the murderous events which Jones details. The wreckage must then have sunk and been buried in the violent undersea quake which occurred in the early morning hours of 7 May.

While this is our best theory as to what happened to the "Lucky Lady," we cannot be certain without further evidence. Why there was no debris or floating wreckage is a question that can probably never be answered. It is our opinion therefore, that this disaster should be categorized as: disappearance at sea; cause--human error; search discontinued.
