sordid isle<br \/>\nawash in nowhere\u2019s grim, un-Englished sea.<br \/>\nHere scuttlebutt alarmingly reputes<br \/>\nour Prophet-Shaman-Seer to be marooned.<br \/>\nThose sightings of his sole anomaly<br \/>\nleast burdened with implausibility<br \/>\nare clustered \u2019round this slough of mute despond.<\/p>\n<p>In clip-joint after pedagogic clip-joint,<br \/>\nreluctantly deployed Eustachian tubes<br \/>\nwithin my skull stay forcibly dilated<br \/>\nyet shrink from grunts that answer to this tune,<br \/>\nanother snarl from Deuteronomy<br \/>\nthat pounds and frightens, just as previously:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8230;So every construction that burps from their jawbones<br \/>\nis grammared like goulash, and ends with a singsong<br \/>\nlike questions from teen-boys with diagnosed syndromes,<br \/>\nand all of their vowelings are schwas without diphthong&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>(While on our author\u2019s turf, society\u2019s seen<br \/>\nthrough his unsocializable eyeballs.<br \/>\nForgive my reportage if it displays<br \/>\na certain, shall we say, uncuddliness.<br \/>\nYour schoolmarm\u2019s purer self, as you\u2019ll soon see,<br \/>\nis warmed and cooled with nicer qualities.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>iii.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I pass an ungreen grove of academe<br \/>\nin harbor slums, a dockside alley Hades,<br \/>\nwhose faculty, through warped windows, impose<br \/>\nsuch speech impediments on passersby.<\/p>\n<p>One snoring educator\u2019s office hours<br \/>\nare evidently scheduled on the stoop<br \/>\nof this converted storefront (let\u2019s be blunt).<br \/>\nThe lecture swirling from his tenured gob<br \/>\ncomprises tousled hanks of ramen braids<br \/>\n(a local staple) chased with chem-lab \u201cbeer\u201d<br \/>\nfrom Kirin cans that clank a mustached dragon.<br \/>\nThree Shiba Inu bitches service him<br \/>\nlike supine Lazarus, tattled by Luke,<br \/>\npersuading me, for succor, to retreat<br \/>\nto anti-idylls of our Pentateuch:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;To increase tuition and cover expenses<br \/>\nfor morphine sabbaticals, ladyboy whoring,<br \/>\nthey brighten their eyeballs by wedging in lenses<br \/>\nof Hollywood turquoise, enhancing the foreign.<\/p>\n<p>Encouraged by Management, loving the Other,<br \/>\nthey\u2019re follicle-bleaching their dishwater fauxhawks,<br \/>\nup-sprucing ethnicity, bonused to bother<br \/>\nto penetrate pupils who spring for the Botox&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This lingo guru\u2019s regulation \u2019do<br \/>\nshows barely two dark roots, or none, or few.<br \/>\nThe more seductive of the suction cups<br \/>\ndesigned unsubtly to eroticize<br \/>\nhis irides, mouse-colored otherwise,<br \/>\nremains in place, but likely unseen-through,<br \/>\nas he is comatose, despite his gaze.<br \/>\nThe second plastic shard has come unsucked<br \/>\nfrom lids and lashes, chin-ward to migrate<br \/>\nand, milkish-blue, to glint amid the stubble<br \/>\nin lurching time with Teacher\u2019s sleep apnea.<\/p>\n<p>Adherence to the dress code notwithstanding,<br \/>\nI wonder if this stud-cum-stoop stymie,<br \/>\nthis customer deflector, counter-tout,<br \/>\ncould gigolo one \u201cbeer\u201d in student fees.<br \/>\nHis place of work is not the thriving dive<br \/>\nour clear-eyed Deuteronomy decries.<\/p>\n<p>So now it\u2019s time to bar-hop, after all,<br \/>\nand time to do what\u2019s called \u201ccollecting thoughts.\u201d<br \/>\nWhile tripping over drunkards, anyway,<br \/>\nyou might as well jump in and chase some shots.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iv.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>False quibble, this quintet of fibbing words<br \/>\nfrom Luke and Matthew: Seek and ye shall find.<br \/>\nThey contradict my life, which schools me thus:<br \/>\nStop looking and you\u2019ll stumble straight upon.<\/p>\n<p>A tavern curtsies on a spalled seawall,<br \/>\nits barnacles made girlish by kelp tresses,<br \/>\nambiguous as \u201chostesses\u201d inside.<br \/>\nThey\u2019re foreign creatures, tiny clasping tweens,<br \/>\ntransgendered and homogametic, both,<br \/>\nindentured to this shackling island chain\u2019s<br \/>\nexcessively tattooed fake Mafiosi.<br \/>\nOrgasms are their remit, caused in jeans,<br \/>\nin keeping with this nation\u2019s reticence<br \/>\nand sense of \u201cface,\u201d in place of heart and guts.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, unlike zippered pricks, their light\u2019s unhidden.<br \/>\nTheir song rings bright in lisping Tagalog,<br \/>\nmore supple-tongued than what I\u2019m ruing now,<br \/>\nthe sweeter for its pitiable condition.<br \/>\nThey\u2019re trinkets bulk-imported from a jungle,<br \/>\nsuch lovely things, mourning their Philippines.<br \/>\nThese \u201cOthers\u201d (see above), post-colonized,<br \/>\nwith pidgin, \u201cglobally indigenized,\u201d<br \/>\ncan elocute bright worlds above the skulls<br \/>\nof ethnic Anglo Saxon TEFL \u2019tards,<br \/>\nupon whose nourished thighs, across whole seas,<br \/>\nthey\u2019re kidnapped from their villages to toil.<\/p>\n<p>Instructors, youngish, from the language schools<br \/>\non \u201ccoffee break\u201d (read: fifth pre-lunchtime \u201cbeer\u201d),<br \/>\nwho never knew, before expatriation,<br \/>\nthat they were pedophiles, crane Adam\u2019s apples<br \/>\naround the babies dying on their pants,<br \/>\nto
