Rosaire Appel lives in New York. Her work, situated at the crossroads of looking and reading / words and images, takes form in digital prints, drawings, photographs and books. Her books, both limited editions and commercially available, often feature abstract comics combined with asemic writing – writing that has no semantic value. Her most recent book is split-level pomes – a ‘pome’ is (perhaps) a dyslectic poem…. Her work is exhibited internationally and has appeared in many print and web-based venues.
