The launch for Dan Rhodes‘ (above) new novel Gold was held at the Blue Posts in Fitzrovia last night. Appropriate to the novel’s theme, a pub quiz saw 3:AM (well, Paul Ewen and myself) pitted against various authors and uni chums of said novelist, though Dan Crowe and Simon Prosser did a bunk from our team when it was obvious we’d come last. A surfeit of Eng Lit degrees could not save us from questions on grindcore, Big Brother and golfing memoirs, even if we held our own on 80’s pop and crab-themed novels.
