Bear Parade has published 3:AM poetry editors Ellen Kennedy and Tao Lin‘s novel, Hikikomori, the only novel about hikikomori currently in existence and the largest Bear Parade book ever, so far. Apparently it stars “werner herzog, richard yates, kurt vonnegut, kevin sampsell, brian beatty, john updike, bony hard asses, obese ugly fish, jets to brazil, organic soy bean pasta, black squirrels, hotplates, nutritional yeast, baby carrots, okra farms, and empty soy bean pods.”
Our good friend Paul Ewen held the launch of his London Pub Reviews (pictured) in Fleet Street’s Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese last night, where the beer and drunken conversation flowed as freely as in the book itself. “Paul Ewen is the funniest new writer I have read in years. Join him on his one man Campaign for Surreal Ale.” said Toby Litt, who was there himself, as was Tom McCarthy. Get your copy now.
