The Sohemians continue their programme of varied W1-themed talks upstairs at the Wheatsheaf (25 Rathbone Place, W1T) with veteran music journalist and Mod Paolo Hewitt on the history of the London orphan (7.30pm on November 9), while Violent London author Clive Bloom talks Gothic literature and history (7.30pm on November 23). Both £3 entry.
Zer0 Books continue their impressive roster with Carl Neville‘s take on New Labour as cinema Classless. The author appears at radical bookstore Housmans on November 13 (5pm).
Finally, the Ambit Covers exhibition at the Original Gallery (Hornsey Library, London N8 9JA) showcases 50 pieces of cover art from Britain’s most distinguished literary journal, including works by David Hockney, Ralph Steadman and Eduardo Paolozzi (above). Private view on November 17, 7-9pm.
