Ed Champion, of Return of the Reluctant / Bat Segundo fame, is live blogging this year’s Oscars. To help him along the way, he’s recruited a motley crew of fellow bloggers and writers including 3:AM’s Tao Lin. Though the 79th Academy Awards don’t start until 1700 local time today (Monday 0100 GMT), the action has already kicked off on Ed’s site. Tao doesn’t own a TV set so has elected to write on books instead. You can read his post here, which contains an email exchange between Tao and the editors of n+1:
Dear Benjamin Kunkel,
I’ve attached a fiction submission for N+1. My novel, EEEEE EEE EEEE, and story-collection, BED, are forthcoming from Melville House (April, 2007). My stories have appeared in the Cincinnati Review, the Mississippi Review, 14 Hills, Other Voices, and others. I was born in the ghettos of Taiwan in 1983. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Tao LinDear Tao Lin,
Congratulations on your collection forthcoming from Melville house. We look forward to reading it. Unfortunately, we won’t be publishing your latest about Haley Joel and Dakota. We expect to see it in Nerve any week now. Why do you want us to publish you so much, after all you’ve said and written about us? Is there a point here? Just curious, Marco (for n+1)
