[12.9.05][Andrew Gallix] 3:AM TOP 5: DEE GENERATE Dee Generate (real name Roger Bullen) shot to fame in the late 70s when he became the drummer in punk band Eater at the tender age of 14. Today, "Dee Generate" is married with 3 children, works in social services, has a degree in Fine Art and a greyhound. He started drumming again two years ago ("I've got lots of drum synth devices and circuit bent drum machines. I also play acoustic drums and bongos -- and a washboard"), and plays regularly in several bands ("It's mostly electronic noise stuff"). He also recently patched things up with Andy Blade (Eater's lead singer who has just published a memoir entitled The Secret Life of a Teenage Punk Rocker: The Andy Blade Chronicles), and both of them will be appearing at Boogaloo Bar (London) on 22 September: "Me and Andy have resolved differences and want to give Eater a short reprise". In the meantime, Dee/Roger is listening to the following albums:
1. Buried Mind (Sub Pop) -- Wolf Eyes 2. Mandarin Movie -- Mandarin Movie (Aesthetics) 3. Easy Listening -- Pig Face (Invisible) 4. The New Millenium -- Holger Czukay (Funfundvierzig) 5. The Flowers of Romance -- P.I.L. (Virgin) [permalink]
